Variable Area Flow Meters

The Hedland Flowmeter and Flowalerts are variable area instruments. A precision machined, sharp edged Orifice located within the piston Assembly; forms an annular opening with the contoured Metering Cone. The piston Assembly carries a cylindrical PPS/Ceramio Magnet, that is magnetically coupled to an external indicating Magnet that moves precisely in direct response to movement of the Piston.

A calibrated Spring opposes flow in the forward direction. The spring decreases viscosity sensitivity and allows the flow meter to be used in any position, including inverted.

King Variable Area Flow Meters

• All meter blocks are precision (NC machined from solid cast acrylic stock. (Cast material is the most durable of all Acrylic resins.)
• Direct read scales for GPM, GPH for water or SCFM, SCFH for Air are standard. (Special scales are available.)
• A uniform white back on all 7500 series meters enhances scale readability.
• Factory certified calibration is available.
